A YOUNG motocross rider from Nantwich is hoping Chronicle readers can help him live his sporting dream.

Joe Axl, 12, who has put in some impressive performances for North Staffordshire Motocross Club, may be forced to quit through lack of funds.

The youngster has been doing so well he has been promoted to the adult (over 15) age group. He wants to compete in the sport professionally.

Joe, of Byron Walk, said: 'The costs are becoming very high and I need a new bike and equipment to keep racing. My mum is a full-time student so it's hard for me to keep going. It would be a real shame to have to pack in because I'm doing really well.'

Joe races all over Britain and in his last race he finished second out of 20 riders from nine different clubs.

His mum, Sonia, said: 'We're in desperate need of a big-wheel bike because he needs the right equipment to compete.'
