Jenny Tinmouth says she is raring to go and have a MCE Insurance British Superbikes outing when round two takes to the tarmac at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Chester-born Tinmouth, who was signed up to Superbikes powerhouse Honda Racing prior to the season start, had a mixed opening round at Donington Park a fortnight ago where she crashed out of race one before technical difficulties prevented her from making a return to the track for race two.

However, just her very appearance on the grid for race one was enough to see her etch her name into the motorsport history by becoming the first ever female racer to compete in an official national race as part of a factory-backed team.

But 36-year-old Tinmouth, from Ellesmere Port, can't wait to get back in the saddle of her Honda Fireblade and make the most of having a full support staff behind the scenes after years of racing solo as a privateer.

"I’m really looking forward to Brands and getting another go on the Fireblade this weekend - it’s such a great bike and I love riding it," said Tinmouth, who made her Superbikes debut with the Splitlath Motorsport team back in 2011.

" I am still getting used to it and building my confidence but hopefully it will come together soon. The team are great and are teaching me loads, so I'm just trying to take it all in and do the best I can."

Tinmouth's teammates Dan Linfoot and Jason O'Halloran will also be looking to impress on the Kent circuit where Linfoot will be looking to repeat the same success he achieved at the opening round where he enjoyed good battles with Josh Brookes and Shane Bryne. He finished fourth in race one and was on the podium in race two in second place just 0.589 seconds off the win.

The first round was positive for O’Halloran who built confidence on the CBR1000RR and improved his times throughout the weekend. The Australian rider finished 19 and 11 at Donington and will be looking to build on this at Brands and push further towards the front.

Qualifying for the second round at Brands Hatch takes place on Saturday with race one due to begin at 1.30pm and race two at 4.30pm on Sunday.
