Jenny Tinmouth returns to MCE British Superbikes Championship (BSB) action this weekend when round six of this season’s competition heads to Thruxton.

The Chester-born Honda Racing rider suffered a disappointing time during her last outing in the saddle at Snetterton a fortnight ago where she crashed out of both races.

Tinmouth was lucky to escape injury following her off in race two where her CBR1000RR Fireblade was thrown into a cartwheel across the track at Brundle, sending Tinmouth sprawling across the asphalt.

Thankfully, 37-year-old Tinmouth walked away from the crash unscathed but the race was red-flagged as a result of the debris left on the track.

The result was called with two thirds of the race completed and Shane Byrne took top spot from Tinmouth’s Honda team mate Dan Linfoot in second and BMW’s Michael Laverty in third.

But the Ellesmere Port rider, who recently clocked up her 100th race in British Superbikes, now has the chance to get back on track at the Hampshire racetrack this weekend for two days of competition as she looks to claim her first points of the BSB season.

"I’m looking forward to this weekend and getting myself back on track a little - Knockhill and Snetterton weren’t great rounds for me so I am looking forward to getting out at Thruxton," said Tinmouth.

"It’s a great circuit and I went well there last year beating my personal best, so I’m hoping to start where we left off really. We had a great base setting from Thruxton last year, so we’re going to start with that and see how we get on.

"I absolutely love riding the Fireblade and Thruxton is so fast and flowing, which really seems to suit it, so I’m just looking forward to getting out there and having a blast."

Free practice begins tomorrow with the both qualifying sessions held on Saturday afternoon before the main event on Sunday afternoon.
