TABLE TENNIS: RAY Jackson beat Runcornian Mark Roscaleer in an all Sutton CC final in the divisional singles for top-flight Halton Table Tennis League players.

The competitions for all three divisions was held at Halton Stadium on Sunday.

In Division One, the group winners were Graeme Cleary, Ray Jackson, Rob Hughes and Tim Wearden.

Quarter-finals saw Cleary defeat Neil Baker, Roscaleer overcome Rob Hughes, Tim Wearden beat brother Brian from two sets down and Jackson knock out Rachel Baker.

The semi-final clashes saw Roscaleer get the better of Cleary and Jackson topple Tim Wearden.

Jackson, the league's registration secretary from Liverpool, then beat Roscaleer in four sets to become champion.

The Division Two event was organised on a round-robin basis due to a low turnout.

Runcorn Sports Club's Lynsey Pich won with Pavilions' Rob Midgeley the runner-up.

Division Three group winners were Matthew McCormick, Annie Hudson, Josh McGiveron and Liam Tildsley.

McCormick then beat Michael Lunn, Tildsley defeated James Noon, McGiveron put out Michael Siu and Hudson eliminated James Lunn.

In the semi-finals, McCormick beat Tildsley and Hudson defeated McGiveron.

The final between Halton Club's McCormick and Sutton Manor's Hudson saw the latter take the title. nTrebles from Mal McEvoy and Phil Luxon helped Ford A to over-come Frodsham A and take over at the top of Halton League's Division One.

Frodsham recovered with a win against Sutton Manor B, Dave Nelson remaining unbeaten, while Frank James took the honours in Widnes Rec A's draw with Runcorn Sports Club C.

Division Two's Pavilions B had trebles from Dave Goulden and Les Illidge in victory at Eli Lilly and Daresbury had trebles from Andy Woodyatt and Paul Morgan as they overcame Widnes Rec B.

In Division Three, Halton Club B, lost to a Jeff Grundy inspired Widnes Rec C yet defeated Sutton Manor D, despite Michael Lunn's treble.
