MEMBERS of Halton and Frodsham Harriers took advantage of the fine weather to turn in some excellent performances in round two of the Cheshire League at Deeside Stadium, Connah's Quay.

Martha Cottrell (12.0 seconds), Jess Wright (12.1), Emma Crosby (13.3) and Jenny Pyatt (14.6) were early scorers in the under 11 girls 75m sprints.

In the 600m, Jess left the rest of the field standing, winning in two minutes 00.3 seconds. Jenny scored the B points with a time of 2:25.9, while Jess topped off her day with 3.34m in the long jump.

Thomas Kelly scored all of Frodsham's points in the U11 boys competition, starting with a splendid 11.9-second run in the 75m.

He then had a best of 2.90m in the long jump, and an 8.83m throw in the javelin.

Maisie Ford, Emma Scott, Amy Pearson and Amy Wright all ran within under two seconds of each other in the 200m races, while in the 800m Emma Pyatt led the scoring with 3:04.3.

Maisie took the B points with 3:07.3, Emma Scott claimed the C points with 3:10.5 and Amy Wright completed the scoring with a time of 3:16.2.

Maisie had a clearance of 95cm in the high jump and the two Amys scored the A and B points in the shot-put.

Amy Pearson, Maisie and the two Emmas were third in the 4x100m relay in 64.0 seconds.

In the U13 boys section of the match, Ashley Pye scored the fourth A points in the 100m with a 14.8-second run.

James Crosby's 14.9 effort won the first B points and Richard McGeachie (17.0) finished with the fifth C points.

He went to the 1,500m start line with brother Robert and each ran a well-judged race, Robert finishing just ahead of Richard to take the second A points in 5:18.0.

Richard picked up the first B points in 5:31.0.

In the U15 boys competition, Nathan Dawson began his day with a personal-best time of 13.4 seconds in the 100m for a second A finish.

David Tomalin was home in 14.4 to claim the third B points.

Mark Coman, Liam Renton and Sam Ford were Frodsham's 800m competitors, finishing fifth in 2:22.1, eighth in 2:28.2 and 12th in 2:43.2 respectively.

Sam (1.30m) and David (1.20m) won the points in the high jump, with Mark and Nathan the scorers in the shot with 7.80m and 7.14m throws respectively.

The four boys came second in the 4x100m relay, passing the baton round in 55.0 seconds.

Under 17 lady Rachel Green ran 2:50.4 in the 800m, while senior man Matthew Evans had a fifth place in the 200m (28.7 seconds) and a fourth in the 1,500m (6:33.2).
