HOTSHOTS United Services Club and RAOB racked up the highest-scoring wins in Friday's Widnes & District Darts League Lt Wilkinson Cup first round.
The Buffs won 7-2 at Our Lady's while USC triumphed by the same scoreline when entertaining St Michael's RC.
Chris McLean provided early promise with an opening win for Our Lady's, but RAOB responded through J J Geoghegan, Tez Gallagher (13 darts) and Damian Eustace.
Our Lady's posted a second success through R Pichilingi to close the gap to 3-2, but Buffs won the last four thanks to from Ray Dutton, D Batty, Brian Dutton and Darren Grant.
St Michael's also struck first in their tie thanks to Mark Lunt but USC claimed the next four games through, Mal Holden, Kevin Martindale, Alan Leather and Gary Howarth.
Joe Boyle kept St Michael's hopes alive but the Services continued the bombardment with Dave Everitt, Alan Gill and Kevin Birch taking the last three.
Widnes RUFC won against Castle more comfortably than the 5-4 scoreline suggests - after taking the first two, courtesy of Ian Argent and Paul Welsh.
Castle fought back with a Danny Greenwood win but Dave Pickles (16 darts) and Alan Coombes took the Wids further ahead.
Don Cousins kept Castle's hopes flickering but Jeff Thompson sealed the Wids' victory with two games to spare. Castle's P McCabe and A Pickering won the remaining games.
Corpy beat Widnes Rec B by the narrowest margin but with time to spare. Rec were level after the fourth game with wins from the Corpy's Stuart Lawton and Lol McGeiver being cancelled out by Alex McColm and Andy Redmond.
However, B Mercer and Ste Kelly both won to manoeuvre Corpy into a strong position.
Wayne Bedford responded for Rec but Alan Pennington clinched progress for Corpy. Anton Freeman's last-gasp success for the Liverpool Road side was therefore academic.
