HOCKEY players at The Queen’s School, Chester, are looking forward to carrying last year’s superb form into 2012.

There are plenty of friendly fixtures and tournaments for the girls to look forward.

The school’s under 19 team will compete in the outdoor Cheshire Final in March, having finished as runners-up in the county qualifying rounds.

The team comprises: Phillippa Jones, Nicola Kiely, Lucie Mulliss, Ele Jones, Imogen Regnart-Butler, Francesca Berry, Emma Naylor, D’arcy Tuite, Gabi Tuite, Celia Tedstone, Debbie Overton and Anna Fearnall.

The U16s team were in fine form in 2011. They took part in the national schools hockey tournament, winning the county round and North West of England round. They won the right to travel to Leeds for a the North Final, where they finished third out of eight schools.

The U16s also won the Cheshire indoor and outdoor tournament qualifiers. They will play in the finals this month and in March. Before Christmas, they also won the Chester and District U16 outdoor final.

The team comprises: Sophie Bradshaw, Tooba Khan-Niazi, Farah Khater, Fiona Stockton, Isobel Pugh, Isabelle Ardron, Alice Pym, Amber Prothero, Lucy Fearnall, Rhiannon Jones, Eleanor Jones, Millie Tunstall and Aby Prothero.

The U14 team also took part in the national schools tournament, qualifying from the county round to progress to the North West of England round where they finished third overall. They have also qualified for the Cheshire indoor final at the end of this month.

The team consists of: Elinor Godfrey, Rachel Copley, Amy Clarkson, Alice Thompson, Matilda Gibbons, Tabitha Willcox, Jemima McEvoy, Emma Chow, Orlaith Monk, Beth Jones, Kimberley Meredith and Nia Jones.

The U13 team have recently won two tournaments of note – the Packwood Haugh Invitation, which was a seven-a-side competition in Shropshire, and the Chester and District U13 indoor tournament.

The U13s team line-up comprises: Zara Rourke, Charlotte Enevoldson, Emily McBurney, Hattie Williams, Olivia Williams, Serena Grace, Georgina Alexander, Jade Parker and Olivia Jones.
