TENNIS: RISING tennis ace Jordan McCulloch has served up yet another success after scooping a host of titles at the Cheshire County Championships.

The 14-year-old from Little Sutton was victorious in the U14 singles and doubles event and also captured the U16 singles crown despite being two years younger than some of the competitors.

Jordan's proud dad Steve is confident his talented son can continue his rich vein of form and realise his dream of becoming a professional tennis player.

He said: 'It's been a very good tournament for him as it's one of the toughest competitions you can play in. He's a very level-headed lad and hopefully, playing like this, he can achieve his long-term ambition.

'He began playing at a very young age during his time at Childer Thornton Primary and has been dedicated ever since, learning a lot from his coach Monica Lewis in Neston.'

Jordan is currently a student at the Mike Walker International Academy in Wrexham after leaving Whitby High School to pursue tennis full-time.

After coming back from an injury earlier in the year, the youngster has gone on to achieve success in a number of competitions across the UK, resulting in him being ranked first in the Daily Telegraph Grand Prix leader board.

The accumulation of points awarded to him during the season, and the fact the campaign is drawing to an end, means Jordan is almost certainly guaranteed a trip to La Manga Tennis club in Spain.

There he will go on to face the players ranked in the top four of the leader board in a junior tournament as well as having the opportunity to train with leading European coaches.
