A club record 125-0-0 proved too good for second-placed Phil Piercey (27-8-0) and Shane Stoakes in third with 14-8-0 of carp.

Andy Smith weighed in with bream to win the Chester Police AC match on Orceton House fishery in Lancashire with 23-4-0. Mark Greasley was second with 19-12-0.

Les Picken was top in Burton Mere fishery's open, taking carp for 75-0-0 on to the scales to get the better of Ronnie Woods (44-0-0).

Winston Duckers and Keith Dentith won a place in this year's civil service national match after coming through last week's Welsh qualifier on the Tirley Court fishery near Gloucester. Duckers finished second with 144-14-0 of carp taken to a floating dog biscuit, while Dentith claimed the sixth and final qualifying place with 46-2-0 of carp.

Colin Cooke of Fisherman's Tackle landed a double at Heronbrook fishery. He won their day match with 172-4-0 before sealing victory in the evening with 72-8-0.

Peter Jones (7-9-0) was top rod with four rainbows when Chester Police fly fishers cast their lines on the Penycae reservoir.

Chester matchmen made a clean sweep in the Leeswood AC match on tranquility lake, Dave Furlong (31-8-0) winning from Chris Walker (19-12-0) and Frank Doran (16-0-0). Furlong (14-6-0) also landed second in the Offa's Dyke fishery open.

Paul Griffiths (57-8-0) won the Tuesday Rovers AC match on tranquility lake.

Paul Morrelle was top in the Egerton Arms AC match on the Mollington length of the Shropshire Union Canal, taking small fish for 2-3-0.

Rod 'n' Reel team members were to the fore in the Sunday evening open match on Hampton Springs fishery, Rob Denny leading the way with 51-4-0.

Jimmy Crimes (5-10-0) netted first place in the Ellesmere Port British Legion AC match on the River Weaver at Hunt's lock.

Steven Dean led the field in the Lobol AC Wednesday evening match on priory pool, weighing in with 13-0-0.

The Airbus Broughton team finished in the bottom half of the Airbus National Championship on Messingham Sands fishery at Scunthorpe. Their best performers were section winner Jason Rogers (40-0-0), Alan Jenkins (33-0-0) and Richard Parry (21-0-0).

Willy Jones (2-1-0) won Grosvenor Estate AC's match on the River Dee at Challoner's Meadow, with small roach and dace.

Steve Bampton took the Greyhound Saughall AC match on Carr Mill pool with a 14-12-0 roach, skimmers and perch mix.

There was no catching Paul Robinson (40-0-0) when Caldy AC fished on the long island pool at Hampton Springs fishery.

Dave Huxley went home with the Pioneer Shield after winning the Mickle Trafford AC match from the boats on Lake Brenig. He took a five-rainbow haul for 10-0-0.

Geoff Dentith was top in the Rake and Pikel AC contest on the match lake at the Border fishery. He won with a 97-8-0 carp haul.

In the Rake's Sunday match on long island pool, Gary White won with a carp-based 48-13-0.

Phil Hardman won the Upton AC match at Hampton Springs fishery, drawing on rock pool to take 46-12-0.

Fishing on the Carterhouse length of the Sankey to St Helens canal, Ian Lloyd won the Rivacre AC match with 3-0-0 of bream and 2-8-0 of eels to total 15-8-0.

Peter Hodge (27-5-0) netted top spot in the Royal Mail Chester AC match on the Lloyds Meadow fishery.

Steve Openshaw landed a mixed 51-8-0 to win the Thursday open match at Lingmere fishery. The Saturday match at the same venue was dominated by the Randles family, with Dave senior (98-7-0) pipping Dave junior (54-8-0).
