Hollie Jardine has proven a huge hit after taking up boxing only four months ago and her trainer says she has the potential to become a future international.

The 22-year-old from Frodsham took up the sport after travelling from the North West to work in the Home Counties area and attending the Boxing gym at Welwyn Garden City.

Professional boxing trainer Paul Cook, who coaches Hollie, believes she has a bright future.

“She only started training four months ago but I honestly believe she has a massive future in the sport,” said Cook.

“I have worked on international duties and I believe Hollie, with the raw talent she has, will end up at that level. She has been training four times a week and sparring both make boxers and female."

And the Frodsham fighter is close to making her ring debut. Cook, who says that Hollie has natural raw ability, added: “We are aiming to box her in her first contest in August and then enter her in the female elite national championship.

“I have trained many boxers and I believe Hollie is one of the most naturally talented I’ve ever come across.

“She will compete in the 52kilo weight class, she mixes very well in the gym with other boxers who have alreadynicknamed her Ivy!

“I’d like to say well done on all the hard work and I am very excited about the future. I know she will make her parents and family very proud.”
