ANDY Winslade scored twice as Vauxhall Motors Reserves returned to winning ways in West Cheshire League Division One on Saturday with a 2-1 triumph at Blacon Youth Club.

The previous evening Ellesmere Port had picked up their first three points of the season as Chris Nicoll fired them to a 1-0 win at Christleton.

Willaston (Mark Nokes, Jamie Gardiner, Chris Fairhurst) lost an Division Two thriller 5-3 at home to Richmond Raith Rovers on Saturday.

Capenhurst Villa (Iain Forster 2) went down 5-2 at South Liverpool.

Capenhurst Villa Reserves (Dave Jackson), meanwhile, lost 4-1 at home to South Liverpool Reserves in Division Three.

Ellesmere Port Reserves (Neil McIntyre) were beaten by the same scoreline at Marshalls Reserves but Neston Nomads (Alex Clare 4, Scott Bennoch) fared better, as they edged it 5-4 at Merseyside Police.

Neston (Nick Jones) drew 1-1 at Ellesmere Port (Steve Cooke) on Tuesday.

Ellesmere Port Town Ladies got their Cheshire Women’s League Division One campaign off to a flying start on Sunday as they won 4-1 at home to Wynthenshawe Ladies.

Becky Powell, Kerri Brown (2) and Lucy Thornton – with her first senior goal – shared the strikes for Port, whose side contained a number of players from the club’s successful under 16s side of last season.

Centre-back Lindsay Taylor starred.
