GRACE Arms recorded a fine victory in round two of the Stan Dukes Memorial Cup on Sunday.

They defeated Ellesmere Port Sunday League rivals Westminster 4-2 thanks to goals by D Norris (2), D Page and S Griffiths.

Westminster hit back through S Rioch and N Eccleston.

Two goals from Robert McDowell provided Thorne Plumbing & Heating with a 2-0 victory over Woodlands Athletic, while Woodlands went down 3-1 to A&J Aquajet. Dermot O’Donnell (2) and Philip Adram netted for Aquajet, with Tom Riley replying.

In the Premier Division of the Ellesmere Port Sunday League, a hat-trick by C Lloyd fired Cat to a 3-2 win over White Swan.

In Division One, Joe Cooper (2) and Phil Evans were on target as Travellers Rest won 4-1 at Cheshire Yeoman. Sutton Marquis won the by same scoreline at Hope Farm Rangers, Paul Butler and Carl Wellsbury among their scorers.

Callum Wynne and Richie Griffiths were on the mark for FC Saviours in their 2-1 success at Grace Arms Res.

Capenhurst Villa claimed an away point in West Cheshire League Division Two on Saturday.

The Villa drew 0-0 with mid-table rivals Manor Athletic.

In Division Three, Villa’s reserve team lost 1-0 at home to Marshalls Reserves.

The Ellesmere Port v Maghull match in Division One was postponed.
