Last season’s runners-up Westminster (D Page 3, B Jenkins) also won, 4-1 at home to Cat (J Farley).

A & J Aquatics (D O’Donell) were 1-0 winners at RWJ FC while Woodlands (K Guilford, M Scott) won 2-1 at home to White Swan (D Roxborough).

Cheshire Yeoman (M Roberts 2, L Reynolds) got their Division One campaign under way with a 3-0 success at home to SCFC 94.

Thorne Plumbing & Heating Reserves (C McLeod 2, C Lindsay) won 3-2 at Sutton Marquis, as did FC Saviours at home to Grace Arms Reserves, while Travellers Rest (Steve Stales) nicked it 1-0 at home to Hope Farm Rangers.

Woodlands Athletic (Daryl Freeman 3, Dave Boyle 2, Mark Hampson 2, Shaun Gratrix, Ian Kelly) stormed to a 9-1 success at home to Chester Albion in the Chester & District League Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy first round on Saturday.

Ellesmere Port Town (Steve Millington 3, Andy Harris 2, Gary Handley, Joe Hayes, James Antrobus) had it just as easy, winning 8-0 at home to Grosvenor Arms, but Neston Nomads went down 1-0 at Hooton Arms.

In the Premier Division, Ellesmere Port 3rds (Mark Roberts) lost 5-1 at home to Kelsall.
