CAPENHURST Villa and Vauxhall Motors Reserves booked their places in round two of the Cheshire Amateur Cup on Saturday.

The Motormen were involved in a real thriller, winning 5-4 at Knutsford.

Jordan Brierley netted a hat-trick while Ali Asgri and Kirk McMurray were also on the mark.

Capenhurst saw off visitors Barnton 3-2 with strikes from Jack Sheppard (2) and Ryan Nicholl.

In the West Cheshire League, Willaston were on the wrong end of a 5-0 scoreline when they played host to Marshalls in Division One.

In Division Three, Ellesmere Port Reserves triumphed 3-1 in their derby at home to Capenhurst Villa’s second string.

Carl Smyth (pen), Lee Moores and Mike Docherty got the goals for the Port. Villa’s reply came from Iain Armstrong.

In the Youth Division, a strike by Max Jolly saw Ellesmere Port JFC draw 1-1 at Runcorn Town.
