ANASTASIA Dobromyslova returns to the scene of her greatest triumph this week intent on getting her hands on another world title.

The Russian, who lives in Ellesmere Port with husband and fellow darts player Tony Martin, heads to Frimley Green in Surrey for the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships, which begin this weekend.

Anastasia, 27, won the women’s world title in 2008 before switching to the rival PDC organisation, where she found herself competing against male players.

But she ended her association with the PDC last year and will be back at Lakeside next Monday, taking on Julie Gore of Wales for a place in the semi-finals.

Of the eight women taking part, Gore is seeded second so Anastasia knows she will have a fight on her hands.

The Russian’s world title victory in 2008 ended Trina Gulliver’s seven-year unbeaten run as world champion.

Another career highlight came the following year at the Grand Slam of Darts where she defeated Vincent van der Voort – making her only the second female player to defeat a male professional in a major televised tournament.
