ROWING: Chester crews collected their share of medals at the Autumn Head on Saturday.

The recent heavy rainfall ensured a fast stream assisted the 150 crews who took part in this an annual precessional race won by Agecroft men's eight in a time of 10 minutes 52 seconds, closely followed by their senior four eight who were fourth overall in the morning division and the fast-est crew of that status.

Agecroft women's squad also showed strength in numbers winning both the senior two and senior four eights races.

Dee-based crews performed well, including Royal Chester who won the veteran eights, novice sculls (Ditchfield) and senior three sculls, and The King's School added to the medal tally winning the senior three quadruple sculls (men's, women's and J16 events).

Andy Turner, of Grosvenor, proved to be the fastest sculler of the day and their coxless four of Fussey, Betteridge, Hudson and Hill won the senior two category.

Queen's Park High School won the junior 18 double, women's J15 single and J13 coxed quads sculling events bringing the total wins by Chesterbased clubs to more than 20.

Th event was organised by Grosvenor Rowing Club and sponsored Aaron & Partners, John E Davies, Flumen, MG Recruitment and Quest International.
