CHESHIRE produced one of their best ever performances in the race for promotion to the National Premier Division.
They thrashed leaders Buck-inghamshire and took over at the top of Division One themselves.
'They were top, but we were in superb form,' said Andy Lath-am, himself a winner in the 27-9 triumph.
Cheshire were relegated last year, but look set for a quick return and several Mid Cheshire players were contributors to the victory, though not their top man and top woman - Stockport's Tony O'Shea and Northwich based Jane Stubbs - who were both beaten.
Dianne Clarke (0-3) was also a loser but her teammate Karen Morris hit a 16.69 average to win 3-2 as the women's B side won 4-2.
The men's B romped to an 11-1 success with Andy Sugarman 3-1 (24.40), Fred Smith 3-2 (21.97) and Andy Latham 3-2 (21.96) among the winners.
The women's A won 4-2. Stubbs went down 3-0 but Andrew Hunt won 3-2 (19.95) and Stuart Kellett helped the men's A to complete the clean sweep 8-4 with a 3-0, 25.05 return.
