CHESHIRE are set to return to top flight darts next week.

They need only avoid a hefty defeat in their final game of the National First Division campaign away at London to take their place in the Premier Division again next season.

They became almost certain of promotion when they beat Surrey convincingly 24-12.

The Men's A team were in superb form and won 11-1, with Lostock-based Stuart Kellett the star, averaging 30 per throw in a 3-0 win. Winsford's Andy Sugarman (25.3) won 3-1.

Northwich's Jane Stubbs and lady of the match Andrea Hunt, of Winsford, were winners 3-0 and 3-1 for the Women's A, who drew 3-3.

In the B teams, Jane Moses won 3-0, Fred Smith 3-2 but Carl Godowin lost 3-2 on his debut. The women won 4-2 and the men drew 6-6.

Andy Latham won the Winsford Round the Board Individual title for the third year running when he beat Andy Sugarman 2-0 in the final.

The Pockets B pair retained their doubles title by beating John O'Reilly and Ian Campbell (White Swan) by the same score.
