SNOOKER: PAUL Coppock got Services A off to a good start against Chester and District Billiards League champions Conservative A.

He defeated Steve Williams and, although Dave Smith levelled for Cons, Alan Platt put Services in front again. However, that was to be the end of their challenge.

Eddie Jenkins beat Mark Roberts in a close encounter but Lea Dagher and Neal Jones won comfortably to secure a 4-2 win for Cons.

Broughton Wings had an easy win over Conservative B.

Chris Jones (Cons) suffered his first Chester League defeat at the hands of Steve Turner. Wings raced into a 5-0 lead with wins from Mark Jarvis, Simon Moulton, Russel Jones and Gareth Allen before Gary Jaros beat Pat Haycock to make the final score 5-1.

Utd Services B had their second successive win, this time at the expense of newly-promoted St Werburgh's.

Michael Griffiths and Mark Jones scored for Werburgh's to make the score 4-2.

St Theresa's made it two in a row in their defeat of Snooker Centre.

Wins by John Murray, Joey Wynne, Barry Davies and Chase Kirwin gave Theresa's a 5-1 win. nIn Division Two, St Theresa's A travelled to Electric and had a convincing 5-1 win. Shane Stokes, Mike Thomas, Pete Challinor, Ray Cheers and Anthony Garlang all tasted victory.

In CCO's defeat by Liberal, Mark Lloyd set the standard for the highest break when he recorded a 42 against Phil Sullivan, but Liberal ran out 4-2 winners.

Conservative C had a good 4-2 away win at Christleton with Mike Davies, Terry Milner, Kevin Gibson and Martin Peaker all triumphing.

Waverton A and Waverton B are keeping pace with each other in Division Three. The A team drew away to Cons D and the B team drew at home to Liberal B. In the Upton derby, Upton D came out on top against Upton B 4-2.

The other Upton team, the C team, had a 4-2 win against St Saviours. nIn the CD McAllister Cup, Conservative A never looked like losing to Liberal B with Lea Dagher, Dave Smith and Eddie Jenkins pulling 167 of the 188 handicap back in the first three frames.

Steve Williams, Neal Jones and Andy Short finished the job. St Theresa's B came from behind after giving Liberal A a 70 start.

After John Elliott and Chase Kirwin were beaten emphatically by Tom Hughes and Phil Sullivan, Theresa's found themselves 165 behind. Captain Elliott had no choice but to play Joey Wynne and Wayne Amey to try to pull the massive deficit back.

Wynne won by 60+ and Arney potted a pink or black with every red to record a 135-1 win. This gave Theresa's a 35 lead going into the final two frames which Peter Sheppard and John Murray both won.

United Services C went through to the next round with a win over Upton D. Services were giving Upton 54 start and Martin Walsh pulled this back in the first frame.

St Werburgh's defeated City Transport comfortably and Christleton overcame Waverton by six points.
