SWIMMING: THE City of Chester Swimming Club has three Welsh champions following the Principality's championships at Swansea.

Eleven swimmers took part and Sian Roberts, 15, Gemma Clethro, 13, and Tom Williams, 15, collected gold medals.

Sian had three victories in the 400 metres freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley, and also added a bronze medal in the 200m individual medley.

Gemma won the 400m individual medley, took silver medals in the 200m individual medley and 200m butterfly and had personal bests in two other events.

In an exciting final of the 100m breaststroke, Tom took the gold medal by one-hundredth of a second.

Oliva Moxon, 13, finished second in the 200m breast-stroke, knocking four seconds off her best time, and also took a bronze medal in the 400m individual medley.

In the 11-12 group, Tom Allen, 11, collected a silver medal in the 200m butterfly and Olly Stanley, 17, was third in the 400m freestyle.

Also taking part were Elly Hudson, Becky Williams, Aaron Lett, Jamie Penny and Sam Schroeder.

Ten swimmers went to Stockport for the Stockport Long Course meet and all achieved personal bests in at least one of their events.

They were Holly McCann, Lucy Worrall, Nicola Canfield, Hannah Oldfield, who had three gold medals, four silvers and a bronze, Hayley Barnett, who won the 200m freestyle, Juilet Stephenson, Tommy Hall, who had gold, silver and bronze medals, Matthew Humphreys, Liam Allen and Ryan Oldfield.
