Chester Gladiators have ambitious plans for junior rugby league after sponsors Ungerer extended its support of the club.
Ungerer’s involvement with the club began 12 months ago and enabled the Gladiators to establish new U7s and U8s teams, who have completed a hugely successful first season in the North West Counties competition.
The Sealand Road based company has now donated additional funds for the purchase of new kits carrying the Ungerer logo with the club intending to run teams at five junior age groups in 2016 with U7s, U8s, U9s, U11s and U13s, and a potential U15s team in the offing too.
Gladiators, who were formed in 2008 and are based at The Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton, also have two senior teams, with the first team winning a treble this season, and a tots class catering for children aged two and upwards .
Paul Foster, club development officer for Chester Gladiators, said: "We have enjoyed a huge growth over the last couple of season and the support we have received from Ungerer has been integral to that.
"The sponsorship has allowed us to make real progress in terms of developing junior rugby league and giving more children than ever the chance to experience the sport and represent Chester against teams from across the north west.
"Ensuring our players look and feel the part on the pitch is very important and one of our biggest expenses but thanks to Ungerer our junior teams will be looking smart in professional quality kits during the 2016 season.
"We’re extremely grateful for the ongoing support and it has made a real difference to our club."
John Percy, Ungerer’s managing director, said: "We are delighted to be able to extend our support of the Chester Gladiators to bring the sport to more youngsters in and around the Chester area.
"The club is going from strength to strength thanks to the effort put in by Jim and his coaching team and it is great to know more youngsters are getting the opportunity to partake in a great team sport."
