A BATTLING bowls finals saw Bob Pinning, of Neston Civic, and Dawn McDougall, of Castrol, lift the men’s and women’s Ellesmere Port and Wirral Indoor Bowls titles on Sunday.
In the men’s competition, Pinning beat Stephen Marks of Castrol to record an 8-5 victory.
After an evening of competitive bowling, McDougall destroyed Jo Preston of Castrol B 10-1 to win the ladies final.
About £75 was raised for the league charities after raffles on both the preliminary and finals nights.
The next league management committee meeting will be held on Monday, November 17, at Vauxhall’s Club from 8pm. Entries will be accepted at this meeting for the League of Friends Pairs Competition
Ellesmere Port and Neston Bowling League is to hold its annual meeting at Whitby Sports and Social Club on Wednesday, November 19 at 7pm.
