A TOTAL of 13 pairs entered the latest competition to be staged by the Ellesmere Port & Wirral Indoor Bowling League.
The Lodge Pairs were staged at The Groves Sports and Social Club on Friday.
John and Gill Sheen, representing Electric A, beat Dave Hulmston and Roy Jones of Whitby C in a hard-fought final.

Quarter-finals: Groves B (J Preston & J Webster) 5 Electric A 6, Neston RBL A 7 v Groves 6, OC Club 5 Whitby C 10, Groves EPRBL (N Gill & G Jones) 8 Whitby A (D Edwards & E Hughes) 3. Semi-finals: Electric A 12 Neston RBL A 2, Whitby C 7 Groves EPRBL 6. Final: Electric A 9 Whitby C 4.
The league’s next meeting is on Monday (March 11) at 8pm at Vauxhall Sports and Social Club. Entries will be accepted for the League of Friends Pairs (afternoon competition) and the Triples (evening competition).
