Budding basketball stars are getting ready for the highlight of their school holidays – the Cheshire Phoenix Summer Camp.

More than 200 campers have attended in each of the last five years, making it amongst the biggest in Europe.

Held at Whitby High School, Ellesmere Port, children as young as seven can get involved on a residential or non-residential basis.

A Phoenix spokesman said: “We provide the environment and coaching for you to be the best you can be – the rest is up to you!

“The Cheshire Phoenix professional coaches and players have set the coaching framework for the week.

“We do individual assessments, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. There are lots of prizes on offer and the Camp MVP wins an all expenses paid trip to the five star camp in Pittsburgh, USA.”

Junior Plus Camp is non-residential for kids aged seven-10 with some basketball experience.

Regular Camp is for those aged 11 and above, while Big Man Camp has a minimum age of 14 and minimum height of 6ft 4ins.

They all get under way on Sunday, July 28 (2pm), and then run daily until Friday, August 2.

Junior Camp, for those aged seven-10 with no experience, is daily from Monday, July 29, until August 2.
