BARRY GREEN won Runcorn's all-change Carroll Cup competition which was for the first time spread over a full weekend.

He had rounds of 65 on Saturday and 69 on Sunday for a 134 total which left him two shots clear of his clubmates.

The 36 holes are normally played on a single day but the decision to hold it over two days served the purpose of encouraging more members to take part.

Other notable successes at the Clifton Road club have included Past Captain's Trophy victory - after a card play-off - for father and son duo Mike and Leon Adams.
