WEST Cheshire AC made the most of home advantage in the Cheshire Track & Field League match staged at their Stanney Oaks home on Saturday.
A win for their women’s team and a third-placed finish for their men’s team ensured Wests finished top of the combined standings with 369 points.
There was also victory for their under 11s team.
Jack Chapman, Sonny Dean and Ewan Bradley won three of the four U11s boys sprint races.
Ewan and Jack also tasted long jump triumph, the series of 600m races produced wins for Sonny, Jack, Max Ross and Liam Farrell, while excellent baton passing enabled the relay team of Sonny, Jack, Ewan and Daniel Pagan to pass the post in first by a large margin.
West Cheshire AC’s U11s girls also put in superb performances.
Tamsin O’Keefe was just beaten into second place in the 600m but Anna Crayston, Erin Clynch and Molly Jones won the other three runs in the distance.
Anna was also a sprint winner.
The club’s senior men’s team consisted of Chris Goodwin, Denis Duret and Adam Parr, with the latter two athletes racing to 3,000m victories.
Wests were similarly short in numbers in the U17s men’s events but that did not stop Mark Hearn from finishing first in the shot, second in the 1,500m and third in the 100m, and Niall Harrison first in the 100m and shot and second in the long jump.
There were a hat-trick of victories for the all-conquering U15s boys trio of Zac Barnsley (100m, high jump, 800m), Matthew Pagan (100m, shot, 800m) and James McMahon (100m, high jump, shot).
Evan Roberts (1,500m), Ben Grinter (1,500m), Jac Goodall (1,500m, discus), Euan Hearn (1,500m), Cameron Bradley (discus, sprint) landed U13s boys wins.
Alice McMahon, Laura Turley, Olivia Montez-Brown and Danielle Erskine enjoyed a clean sweep of the women’s sprint gold medals.
Shot put success went to Kelly Baker and Olivia while Sophie Percival, Danielle and Georgina Moulton secured 800m success.
There were U15s girls wins for Emily Ball (javelin, 800m, sprint), Sophie Carter (javelin, 800m), Victoria Smith (long jump), Jessica Renner (800m) and Charlotte Williamson (sprint).
Alice Barnsley (high jump, shot, 200m), Abbie Williams (high jump) and Maisie Tipping (200m) were the club’s U13s girls winners.
