DESPITE a low turnout due mainly to holidays and conditions more suited to a winter cross country meeting, Halton & Frodsham Harriers put in a good performance in their Cheshire Track & Field League match at Longford Park on Saturday.

The Harriers finished fifth in the men’s, women’s and under 11s standings at the Stretford event.

In the U11s girls competition, Emeila Povall-Clarke won the A long jump (3.24m) and finished second in the A sprint (11.9secs), Charlotte Allen landed the B javelin (7.14m), Grace Rimmer was third in the A javelin (9.63m), while Daisy Peacock replicated that finish in the D 600m (2:44.4mins).

Top-three U11s boys finishes went to Dean Rix, who was third in the A sprint (12.0secs), and Aiden Larkin, who was second in B long jump (1.72m).

The club’s U13s girls enjoyed podium success in the 200m, with Charlie McDaid coming second in the B race (30.9secs), Alex Hurst first in the C (30.6secs) and Natasha Treharne third in the D (33.9secs).

Chris Larkin starred for the Harriers U13s boys, winning the A long jump (4.16m) and finishing second in the A 1,500m (5:09.1mins).

Luke Southerton was third in the A 100m (14.0secs) and B long jump (3.45m) and newcomer Luca Tron third in the B 1,500m (5:38.5mins).
