HOOLE’S Wendy Locker was in great form in the Thursday Rovers match at Hampton Springs Fishery.

The Chester Tackle Locker angler bagged a superb 52lb 8oz of carp and barbel for victory.

Drawn on peg 28 of Rock Pool, Locker fished a good distance out with a mixture of corn and meat on the tip to win by some margin.

Next best was Keith Bean, of Higher Kinnerton. Bean took four carp and some skimmers, weighing in with 29lb 2oz from peg 10 on Long Island. A mixed bag of tench, roach and skimmers weighing 28lb 8oz provided Tackle Locker’s Julian Tatton with third.

The Waverton angler drew peg 32 on Long Island and fished a mixture of maggot and caster.

Chester Tackle Locker’s Stuart Davies and Neil Faulkner took third and fourth spots respectively in Sunday’s open match at Hampton. Stuart bagged 27lb 6oz from peg 49 of Long Island, finishing just ahead of team-mate Faulkner with 25lb 12oz on peg 4 of Alice Springs.

Tattenhall angler Simon Knibbs was in great form this weekend in the Saturday Open match at Hampton Springs Fishery. Fishing pellet on the pole to the island from peg nine of Meadow Pool, he bagged carp to 3lb weighing in with a total of 31lb 6oz for victory. Next best was Chester Tackle Locker’s Simon Loyley with 25lb 4oz from peg 23 of Meadow.

Pete Hodgson has had two very successful trips to Cheshire Fishing, Tattenhall.

Hodgson, from Blacon, caught a super bag of bream on pellet weighing up to 4lb to finish with a total weight of 42lb 8oz. On his second visit at the weekend, Hodgson did even better with a 72lb bag made up of carp weighing up to 10lb along with skimmers caught on pellet feeding pellet.
