ALSAGER welterweight Aaron Thomas aims to continue his perfect start to his professional career at Stoke's Kings Hall on Saturday, February 24.

The 2004 Welsh ABA champion, the son of former Stoke City, Manchester United and Wrexham favourite Micky Thomas, has made a perfect start to his pro career.

He won his first bout with a second round stoppage, and emerged the victor on points against the tricky and seasoned campaigner, Ben Hudson, in his last contest.

Although still awaiting the name of his next opponent, Thomas is understandably confident. He said: 'I'm enjoying the transition to the pro game very much.

'It suits my style much better than amateur boxing does. I showed in my first fight against Martin Sweeny what I can do with my power and, although I found Hudson very frustrating, that was a good learning fight for me.

'I tasted success in the amateurs and want to achieve as much as I can as a pro too. I know I have the ability to go all the way and with the guidance of my manager, Chris Sanigar, I am confident that I can fulfil my potential.

'I am keeping my feet on the ground though and don't want to rush anything. I've still got a lot to learn and, for the moment at least, I am really enjoying my boxing.'

At least 400 fans are expected to give him a very vocal support at the atmospheric Kings Hall. For tickets, call promoters Impact Boxing on 0845 1567168.
