Reggie Middleton’s 29 points helped the Nix to a double triumph over the Lions and put them firmly in the driving seat for a fifth place finish.

Roared on by  a vocal home crowd, the Nix held a slender 26-23 lead at the end of  the first.

The Lions, for whom ex-Nix man Chez Marks hit 20-points, enjoyed more success on the court in the second quarter, going in at the break 48-40 up.

The best was yet to come as the Nix hit a phenomenal 40 points in the third quarter, helped by Middleton, Dominique Coleman and Donatas Visockis, as they stunned their visitors to go into the final period 80-70.

Marks tried to chip away at the lead but the Nix held firm to claim a 103-97 win.

One low point for the Nix was an injury sustained to guard Devan Bailey, who suffered shoulder injury which will be assessed by medical staff in the next 48-hours.

Victor Moses and Coleman led the Nix offensive charge as they claimed a vital victory over the Lions at the Copper Box Arena in London on Friday night.

Moses hit 27 points while Coleman drained 25 as the Nix claimed a hugely important victory to boost their chances of a top-five finish in the BBL.

After both sides traded buckets in a tight first period, the Nix took the game to  their hosts in the second and went in at the half-time break 53-45 to the good.

Vince Macauley’s Lions, however, came back strongly in the third period and put together a 17-3 run to give themselves a slender 72-70 lead heading into the final period.

The hosts, who had lost four of their last six games at home prior to the Nix coming to town, retained a slim lead in the fourth before a Coleman three-pointer gave John Lavery’s men renewed impetus.

The Nix, who welcomed back Middleton to the court following injury, emerged from a timeout reinvigorated and posted a 10-point run without reply.

The Nix saw out the remaining to minutes to register a precious 92-88 triumph.
