CHESTER Allstars continued their incredible start to the season by claiming the scalp of teams from a Premier League club.

The Allstars, who are made up of the best Year 5 and Year 6 primary school players from the Chester & District area, headed to Everton’s Finch Farm training complex in confident mood after wins over Macclesfield & District and Wrexham Schoolboys.

But they saved their best performances yet for their clashes with the Goodison Park outfit’s development sides.

The under 11s ran out 3-0 winners thanks to two goals from the dangerous Harley Bennion and a superbly-worked effort from Sam Ward that was set up by James King Magee.

With Bennion, Joe Slawson and John Nixon a constant threat up front, Brandon Burrows and Tom Wyatt controlling the midfield and Max Carter, Harry Jaquiss and goalkeeper Edward Weston commanding in defence, the result was no less than the Allstars deserved.

But better was to come as the U10s overcame the loss of key players to record a 5-1 success.

Captain and Everton academy player Kyle John, Archie Hughes, Rocco Hewitt, Miles Robinson and Jack Atwood found the net for the free-flowing Allstars, for whom Joe Melia, Ben Clark, Jack Wilson and goalkeeper Billy Cooper also stood out.

Allstars coach Chris Timms, a teacher at Mill View Primary School, said: “After only a couple of months, the teams are really beginning to gel now and have a real togetherness and team spirit.

“What I am really proud about more than anything is the way we attack from the back, moving the ball about confidently to create chances.”

Tarporley High School beat Christleton High School in the final to be crowned the winners of the Chester Schools FA Year 9 seven-a-side tournament.
