HOOLE Hornets were unlucky not to take something from their five-goal thriller at Princes Villa in the Chester and District Junior League under 11s section.

They lost 3-2 after Liam Ashbrook, Wes Sinclair and a Ryan Jones penalty secured the points for Villa.

Boughton returned to winning ways with a 6-0 home success against a hard-working Malpas and District side. Goals from Ben Middleton (2), Steve Rimmer, Jack Watson, Luke Sawney and Aaron Haddock sealed the win. Boughton’s man-of-the-match was Adam Sawney.

Saughall defeated Waverton Bees 2-1.

In the U12s section, Waverton Bees went down 9-0 at home to clubmates Waverton Wasps, while in the U13s Saughall Colts edged a 3-2 win over Castrol Celtic. Sam Davies and Luke Hitchman scored to put Saughall 2-0 up by half-time. George Ogden sealed it for Saughall. MoM was Luke Munday.

Malpas looked in control as they beat Boughton 3-1 in the U14s. Callum Woods lifted Boughton towards the end with a consolation goal two minutes from time.

Saughall Colts scored three goals in 10 minutes on their way to a 4-3 triumph over Vicars Cross. Matty Taylor, Jeff Norris and Tom Whitney scored the goals, before Whitney added a second crucial strike. MoM was Elliot Seville.

Newton benefited from the clinical finishing of George Williams, Jacob Rhoden (3) and Sam Smith in their 5-3 victory over Hope Farm Rangers. Adam Roberts and Jacob Foley (2) made sure it wasn’t a comfortable win with goals for Rangers.

Pulford enjoyed a 6-1 win over Hope Farm Hotspurs thanks to goals from Gareth Roberts, Peter O’Brien, Koen Schmink and hat-trick hero and MoM Ben Sawney.

Park Saints beat Chester Nomads 7-2, while Rossway saw off Waverton 7-0.

In the U15s division, Elton Youth slipped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Malpas.

In the U16s section, Newton Athletic posted a 5-0 victory at home to Vicars Cross. Pulford’s game against Rossway was a little closer, Pulford winning 2-1. A well taken goal from David Roberts was followed swiftly by a Rossway equaliser from Alex Denson. Dave Whittaker got the decisive goal for Pulford before half time. MoM was Dan Twist.
