BLACON only just held off a late challenge from Chester Nomads to secure the points in their Chester Junior League Under 13s Division clash.

The game ended 4-3 after Blacon took the lead but were pegged back by Nomads.

The home side then seized control and stretched out a 4-1 lead only for Nomads to fight back to 4-3, leading to a tense final few minutes.

Malpas and District scored a 2-0 victory over Hope Farm in U14s Division Two.

Theo France opened the scoring before and own goal settled it. Man-of-the-match was shared by Thomas Mills and Thomas Milburn.

In the Cheshire Girls League U14s Champions League, Halton suffered a 3-2 reverse at home to Chester and District.

It was another superb performance from Chester, whose passing and movement was key to their victory.

Halton made their visitors work for the result, but a spirited team effort gave Chester & District a superb victory.

Returning goalkeeper Zara Rourke was outstanding to repel Halton’s attacks as Chester established themselves one point behind league leaders Crosfields.
