Marvels off mark

JFC Boughton are up and running in Chester & District Junior League Under 11s Division One.

The mini marvels won 5-2 at Castrol Athletic to record their first victory of the season. Joe Lamb, Kyle Cooper, Connor Jones and man-of-the-match Jordan Lee did the damage.

Blacon Youth made it four triumphs on the trot by edging a thriller at home to Malpas & District 6-5.

Attacking football, two penalties, goals aplenty and all played in the right spirit – the game had it all, but it was the table-toppers who shaded it with efforts from MoM Tom Crawford (3), James Lloyd (2) and Jack Davies.

Newton Athletic are up to second following their 8-2 success at Waverton Hornets.

Sean Moffitt and Charlie Hill hit hat-tricks as high-flying Chester Nomads Colts won 7-0 at home to Saughall Colts in Division Two.

Joe Polding completed the scoring for Nomads, who admitted the final scoreline flattered them.

Westminster Park were 6-2 winners at home to Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Two fine goals from Sam Owens and one each from Jack Dixon (pen) and the hard-working Ollie Claireaux put Park in control before terrific strikes from Dixon and Mohammed Saleh settled an excellent contest. The Dynamos were constantly thwarted by home goalkeeper and MoM Joseph Brackenbury.

Jack Stanton and James Collinson offered the Newton Athletic Eagles replies in their 9-2 home loss to Princess Villa. Sam John was Newton’s MoM.

Nomads closing in

CHESTER Nomads moved within three points of top spot in Under 12s Division One with a 4-0 victory at Waverton Wasps.

George Back and man-of-the-match Isaac Robinson (pen) fired Nomads into a two-goal half-time advantage before Dominic Doherty, from a Robinson cross, and Luke Chard, with a close-range finish, struck after the restart.

Blacon Youth fell 3-0 at home to Castrol Athletic.

A new-look Saughall Colts side went down fighting 4-1 at Waverton Hornets in Division Two.

MoM Oliver Rollins reduced the deficit for Saughall, who featured four new players and for whom striker-turned-defender Spencer Rogers showed strength to return to the game after suffering an injury. Elliot Long, Henry Newton and goalkeeper Sam Evans also performed well for the visitors.

Malpas & District maintained their 100% winning start to the season with a 3-1 triumph at Hope Farm Rangers.

Dynamos march on

VICARS Cross Dynamos continue to lead the way in Under 13s Division Two following their hard-fought 7-5 success at Waverton Bees.

Inspired by man of the match Joe Wainwright, the slick-passing Dynamos came from behind to win a match full of attacking football.

Division One’s JFC Boughton booked their place in the third round of the Cheshire Minor Cup with a 6-2 victory at Stockport’s Signol Athletic.

Jonathan Lee (2), Aaron Hassall, Ross Lavender, Charlie Jones and Charlie Nicholson netted.

Davies does damage

MAN of the match Sam Davies was the hat-trick hero as Under 14s Division pacesetters Saughall Colts edged a close contest at home to Westminster Park 4-3.

Dean Houston was also on target for unbeaten Saughall.

Upton lost 8-3 at Princes Villa while Park Saints were beaten 5-1 at home by Castrol Athletic.

Cameron Parker scored JFC Boughton’s consolation as they crashed out of the Cheshire Junior Cup second round, losing 6-1 at home to Glenavon.

Malpas show spirit

MALPAS & District fought back to earn a 2-2 Under 15s Division One draw at home to Saughall Colts.

A George Carroll penalty and a Jeff Norris rocket put injury-hit Saughall in front, but despite a man-of-the-match winning performance from Danny Brockhurst, they could not hold on.

Battling Chester Nomads lost 3-0 at table-topping Hope Farm Hotspurs in Division Two.

Newscene on the up

CHRISTLETON Newscene are up to third in Under 16s Division One following their 3-1 win at Upton South.

There were 3-3 draws between Chester Nomads Colts and Malpas & District and Elton Youth and Hope Farm Hotspurs in Division Two.

A super strike from Charlie Everall earned Division One’s JFC Boughton an excellent 1-0 Cheshire Youth Cup victory at older-age New Brighton.
