CAPTAIN Alessandro Maletta celebrated his 13th birthday in style as Hoole Hornets cruised to a 8-1 home victory over Hope Farm Rangers in the Chester Junior League Under 13s Cup at the weekend.

Alex Lee-Colding, Harry Sharp and Connor Wilks complemented the man-of-the-match’s five-goal haul.

Blacon Youth (MoM Ryan McKay, Sean Shridley, Sonny Sawson) won 3-2 at Waverton Wasps.

Pulford (Bradley Naylor 4, James Ingleby-Jones, Nathan Armstead) kick-started their U14s Cup charge with a 7-1 home success over Vicars Cross Dynamos (Joe Wainwright; MoM Tom Hughes).

Stuart Swift, Ben Leaman, Luke Young, Sam Parsons, Guy Byrne, Jeff Norris and Adam Joinson struck and Matty Williams was the MoM as Park Saints thrashed visiting Hope Farm Rangers 9-1 in the U16s Cup. Waverton settled for 9-2 at Westminster Park.

Chester Nomads Colts (Lee Bryce 2, Joe McDermott, Marc Hardman, MoM Adam Halewood, Harry Armatage) edged a close U12s Cup tie at home to Vicars Cross Dynamos 6-5, but Blacon Youth (Tom Crawford, MoM James Lloyd, Thomas Rose, Trey Lattie) had it easier, winning 4-0 at home to Malpas & District.

In the U11s Cup, Blacon Youth ran out 9-0 home winners over Hope Farm, with Harley Bennion, Kevin Ball, Sam Carrol, MoM Daniel Robaway, Sam Ward and Camille Moore doing the damage.

There were also big wins for Vicars Cross Dynamos (MoM Joe Cody 4, Owen Bennett 4, Kieran Davies, Christopher Tillotson), 9-1 at home to Waverton Rockets, and Waverton Jets, 9-2 at home to Saughall Colts (OG, Luke Hughes), for whom Sam Richards and Liam Bytheway-Jackson impressed. Malpas & District (Will Morris; MoM Ed Clowes) fell 4-1 at Groves Athletic.

Two games took place in the U17s Division, with Pulford triumphing 4-0 at Vicars Cross Dynamos and Upton 3-2 at home to Blacon Youth (Jack Sharpe, George Senior).

Archie Hughes, Joe Melia and Paddy McLlelland were outstanding in runaway U10s Green Division leaders Waverton Arrows’ 9-1 home romp over Vicars Cross Dynamos.

There were Red Division 4-2 victories for Upton, at FC Porto, and Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts, at Waverton Rockets.
