ETHAN Olubodun hit a hat-trick as Helsby kept the pressure on the Chester & District Junior League Under 9s Blue Division leaders with a 3-2 win over Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Cole Morris (2) netted for the hosts, for whom Bean Leake was the man of the match. Olubodun shared the Helsby honour with Charlie Potts.

Leaders Newton Athletic (Euan Mackay; MoM Jye Waring) won 1-0 at Chester Nomads, whose MoM was Aaron Bennett, while Princes Villa got off the mark with a 4-1 victory at Waverton Bees, for whom Patrick Colligan scored after excellent interplay with MoM Jack Furmston.

Red Division table-toppers Blacon Youth won 3-2 at Waverton Wasps (Louis Mullineux, Max Wade) as second-placed Upton Pumas, driven on by MoM Louis Baylis, triumphed 4-0 at Vauxhall Motors Zafira.
