ELTON Youth were the headline grabbers in the Chester & District Junior League Under 12s Cup.

The rapidly improving Division Two outfit triumphed 2-1 at home to Division One’s Saughall Colts courtesy of a Lauchlan Stanier brace and a man-of-the-match display from Paul Simcott.

Malpas & District lost 2-1 at home to Vicars Cross Dynamos despite taking a first-half lead through Ed Clowes’ headed effort.

Man-of-the-match Rufus Bland, Jack Wright, Alfie Smith, George Smith, Tom Fenney and Craig Norris shared the strikes as Malpas & District won their Under 11s Cup clash at Vicars Cross Dynamos 9-2.

Thomas Chamberlain was the MoM as Saughall Colts cruised to a 5-0 win at Elton Youth with goals from George Germany, Callum Cope, William Corbett, Jake Dwyer and Joseph Guest.

Also through are Chester Nomads following their 2-0 victory at Hawker Jets.

Izaac Allmark and George Mecklenburgh (2) netted and Jack Arundel was the man of the match as Elton Youth won 3-1 at Chester Nomads in the Under 17s-18s Division.

Chester Nomads moved six points clear at the top of the Under 13s Division with a 3-1 success at home to Malpas & District, for whom Harry Cunningham offered a consolation and Christophe Fostier was the man of the match.

Eagles in Shield joy

NEWTON Athletic Eagles won an Under 10s Shield Division B thriller 5-3 at home to Groves Rangers.

Alex Craig (2), Ben Jones, James Pickering and Ben Harris got the goals for Newton, whose man of the match was defender Matthew Kerr.

Lewis Charlton starred and Louis Richardson and Will Barton netted as Malpas & District Blacks lost 3-2 at home to Elton Youth.

Malpas & District Reds (Alex Clelland, Luis Edwards 2; MoM Nathan Ackerle) won 3-1 at home to Upton Pumas in Cup Division B.

Kane Richardson and Dean Woodward fired Helsby to a 2-1 Under 9s Cup Division B victory at Chester Nomads.

Harry Wynn was Helsby’s man of the match.

Upton lost 2-0 at Vauxhall Motors Astras (Jack Swift, Dylan Jones; MoM Luke Stanley).

MoM Leon Duckers, Charlie Evans and Jack Blackwell were the scorers for Blacon Youth in their 3-1 Cup Division A win at Vauxhall Motors Zafira (Louis Bayliss; MoM Thomas Barnes).
