Champs march on

CHAMPIONS Malpas & District won 4-0 at Waverton Wasps on Sunday to stretch their unbeaten Chester & District Junior League Under 11s Division Two run to 13 matches.

Hat-trick hero Tom Fenney and Louis Realff found the net for the newly crowned kings, for whom Jack Hinchcliffe was the man of the match.

Second-placed Saughall Colts won an excellent game at home to Groves Rangers 3-2 with goals from Callum Cope (2) and Liam Atkinson.

Cope and Liam Atkinson were the joint winners of Saughall’s MoM award.

Patrick Webber, Luke Squires, Charlie Bell, Christopher Craven, Dylan Curran and Jack Gadsby shared the strikes and Charlie Ackers was the MoM as Princes Villa recorded a 9-2 victory at home to Porto Panthers (Billy Morgan, Antony Jones).

Waverton Arrows wrapped up the Division One title with an 8-0 success at Tarvin Athletic.

Hawker Jets produced their best performance of the season as they twice came from behind to win 5-2 at Blacon Youth.

Sam Fowles helped himself to a hat-trick for the Jets, whose MoM was Henry Davies.

Waverton Jets rounded off their Under 12s Division Two championship-winning season in style with a 3-1 victory at Elton.

But they were made to work hard by a 10-man Elton side for whom Lauchlan Stanier replied and Connor Spencer was the man of the match.

Matthew Roberts, Sam Rackham and James Fox were on target for the Jets.

MoM Will Morris (5), James Ferguson and Theo Coulter fired Malpas & District to an 8-1 home win over Princes Villa in Division One.

Newton Athletic turned in a good team performance when losing an entertaining Under 13s Division match 4-3 at home to Waverton Wasps.

Danny Mongan (2) and James Collinson netted for Newton, whose man-of-the-match honour went the way of Jack Williams.

Harry Cunningham (2), Josh Charlton and Owen Dance got the goals and Patrick Horrocks was the MoM for Malpas & District in their 4-2 win at Vicars Cross Dynamos. Blacon Youth won their crucial top-of-the-table clash at Ellesmere Port 1-0.

Malpas & District maintained their Under 14s Division Two title challenge with a hard-fought 2-1 triumph at home to Hope Farm.

The visitors opened the scoring early in the second half but their lead was wiped out when Theo France pounced on a defensive error.

With Adam Hailes producing a man-of-the-match display, Malpas sealed the win when Oliver Rozario slotted home from the penalty spot.

Win worth the wait

IT was an afternoon to remember for Upton South as they ended their 20-game wait for a Chester & District Junior League Under 15s Division Two win.

The battlers broke their duck for the season with a stunning 3-2 home success over Malpas & District.

Upton came flying out of the blocks and were three goals to the good at the half-time break thanks to Sam Spridgeon (2) and Jack Roberts.

High-flying Malpas struck twice in the second half to set up a nervy finish but they were unable to beat top goalkeeper Jamie Leek for a third time.

Upton had the chance to make the final scoreline more emphatic but Spridgeon’s penalty hit the woodwork.

Piotr Iwan was the man of the match for Newton Athletic in their 2-0 home loss to Princes Villa in Division One.

Title-challenging Newton Athletic won 6-0 at Groves in the Under 16s Division courtesy of Joe Williams (2), Lewis Donovan, Lloyd Pownall, Ben Gregory and Rob Gilroy.

Josh Clayton hit a hat-trick for Elton Youth in their 9-5 win at Hope Farm in the Under 17s-18s Division.

George Mecklenburgh (2), Joseph Smith, Joseph Wardle, Stephen Harris and Izaac Allmark completed Elton’s scoring.

Panthers are tamed

BLACON Youth remain the team to catch in Chester & District Junior League Under 10s Cup B.

The table-toppers, led by man-of-the-match Owen Jones, won 4-1 at home to Porto Panthers with goals from Jack Chaloner (2), Jimmy Worthington and Joey Thompson.

Upton Pumas were 2-1 winners at home to Malpas & District Reds while Chester Nomads edged it 3-2 at Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts.

In Cup A, Hawker Jets won 3-0 at home to Blacon Youth Tigers, Westminster Park Panthers triumphed 2-1 at Christleton Newscene and Ellesmere Port Rovers drew 0-0 at home to Groves.

Defender Jake Rockall was the MoM for Upton Pumas in their 2-0 home loss to Vauxhall Motors Astras in U9s Cup B.

George Hollyoak bagged a brace for Motors, for whom Dylan Jones was the MoM.

Owen Rose was Helsby’s MoM in their 3-0 home loss to Chester Nomads. Christleton Newscene won 4-1 at home to Waverton Wasps.

Stand-in goalkeeper Molly Hewitt helped Chester & Districts Girls to a 7-2 win over Frodsham Park Girls.
