Malpas marching on

MALPAS & District remain one of five teams in the running for the exciting Chester & District Junior League Under 14s Division Championship after they won 9-0 at Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts.

Man-of-the-match Harry Cunningham (3), Christophe Fostier (3), Josh Charlton, Matt Morgan and Patrick Horrocks shared the strikes.

Two goals in quick succession, by Simon Johnson and George Smith, earned Upton a 2-0 win at home to Hope Farm in the Under 15s Division.

Defender Callum Hershaw and midfielder Ross Kelman shared Upton’s man-of-the-match award.

Malpas & District (Oliver Hailes, Lewis Ward, Ben Black; MoM Tom Wright) won 3-2 at Princes Villa Colts.

A man-of-the-match performance from Connor Millington could not prevent Blacon Youth from going down 2-0 at Princes Villa in the Under 16s Division.

Elton Youth could count themselves unfortunate after losing a physical Under 13s Division Two encounter 3-2 at home to Groves Rangers.

Callum Coleclough and Paul Simcott netted for Elton, Alex Usher was their man of the match.

Conor Harwood, Joshua McNay and Jakub Mikolajewski got the Groves goals.

In Division One, table-topping Blacon Youth (Sam Ward 2, Harley Bennion 2, MoM James McGee, Sam Carrol, Callan Barlow, Jake Sconce, Jake Dean) won 9-0 at Upton as JFC Boughton ran out 3-0 winners at Malpas & District.

Blacon Youth drew an eight-goal Under 12s Division Two thriller at Waverton Wasps 4-4.

Liam Davies (2), Josh Rigby and Liam McGrath got their names on the scoresheet for Blacon, for whom Lucas Spilsbury was the man of the match.

Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts (Jack Catton 2) went down 6-2 at home to FC Porto (Lloyd Lashmir 3, Antony Jones, Charles Ackers, Charlie Berry; MoM Mason Vincent).

Callum Southall and Jack Wright starred for Malpas & District in their Under 12s Division One 4-3 win at Newton Athletic.

Craig Norris (2), Tom Fenney and George Smith were the Malpas marksman.

Goals from Luis Edwards and the excellent Louis Richardson were in vain as Malpas & District lost 3-2 at Runcorn Linnets in Under 11s Division One.

Cross fires four goals

MICHAEL Cross was named man of the match after helping himself to four goals in Newton Athletic Youth’s 5-2 win at Saughall Colts Blacks in Chester & District Junior League Under 9s Shield A.

George Walters completed Newtown’s scoring with MoM Sam Richards and Jamie Cooper reducing the deficit for Saughall with two cracking strikes.

Harry Anderson hit a hat-trick for Newton Athletic in their 5-0 Under 9s Cup B win over Blacon Youth.

Jack Dalton and Ben O’Brien also found the net for the hosts, for whom Callum Bushell was the man of the match.

Heroic duo earn point

TOM Scott and Finnen Hickey were the heroes for Upton Pumas in their Chester & District Junior League Under 10s Cup B 1-1 draw at home to Blacon Youth.

Scott finished off superb approach play by Ryan Smith and William Roche to cancel out Charlie Evans’ opener for Blacon – and then produced a brave goal-line clearance to earn the hosts a point.

Connor Andrews was the man of the match for the visitors, who would have added to their lead had it not been for impressive Upton goalkeeper Hickey.
