Issy Clarke headed West Cheshire AC charge at Stafford  Common.

The talented middle distance runner, who has been selected to represent Cheshire Schools at an Inter  Counties match next month, finished  second in the under 13 girls race with  a time of six minutes six seconds at  the second round of the North Staffs  Cross Country League.

Issy was backed up in her age group  race by Beth McMahon (26th in 6:53)  and Ellie Finn (43rd in 7:39) to earn  the club fifth team position.

Issy’s sister Katie secured sixth spot  in the under 15 girls race with a time  of 11:12, ahead of teammate Sophie  Hemingbrough who was 23rd in  13:01.

Anna Crayston clocked 6:36 for  fourth place in the U11 girls race,  supported by Hollie Jones (seventh in  6:51), Annabel Hemingbrough (20th  in 7:33) and Abigail Pawlett (23rd in  7:38) to earn West Cheshire AC third  team spot.

Harvey Tegg was first home for  West Cheshire AC in the U11 boys  race, posting 6:19 for fifth position,  ahead of Ben Grinter (eighth in 6:23),  Adam Howe (16th in 6:32) and Dylan  Bugg (27th in 6:58) to earn second  team position.

Sonny Dean was eighth in a time of  10:42 in the U13 boys race, ahead of  Jac Goodall (15th in 10:57), Sion  Roberts (25th in 11:29), Paul Morrison  (28th in 11:42), Rory Willson (30th in  11:49) and Alex Mason (37th in  12:12).

Mark Hearn clocked 20:27 for  eighth spot in the U17 men’s race, and  Ellen McMahon posted 22:07 for  ninth spot in the U17 women’s event,  while Evan Roberts (11th in 15:58)  and Harri Britton (17th in 17:41) completed the U15 boys race.

Dave Alexander finished fourth in  the over 40 age group and was 22nd  overall in the men’s race with a time  of 38:42, ahead of Andrew Clague,  52nd overall in 41:04 and fifth in his  over-45 age group; and Dave Hough  was 176th overall in 50:29, and third  in his over-60 age group.

The next round of the North Staffs  Cross Country League is at Park Hall  Country Park, Weston Coyney,  Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday, November 16.

Bob Freeman was first home for  West Cheshire AC at the opening  round of the Liverpool and District  Cross Country League held at Arrowe Park, Birkenhead, clocking 40  minutes 13 seconds for 55th position,  ahead of Jim Jones (95th in 49:49).

The next Liverpool Cross Country  League fixture takes place at Sefton  Park, on Saturday, November 23.

Kate Jayden represented West  Cheshire AC at the Snowdonia Marathon and finished in a time of five  hours 15 minutes eight seconds for  1,399th position.

Entries are now being accepted for  this year’s Essar Chester Round the  Walls Race being promoted by West  Cheshire AC on Boxing Day (10.30am  start).
