Steve Burr is still in the market for new signings but admits he is struggling to find viable targets.

An up-and-down start to the season has highlighted the need to add firepower and steel to his squad, plus another keeper.

But as a fan-owned club the budget must be sustainable and the boss has little to work with.

“We will have to have a look and see what we can do but it’s very difficult,” said Burr, who might have to call in favours and dip into the loan market.

He wants his squad to step up and make a positive impression, as Wayne Riley did in the 2-2 draw at Kidderminster Harriers.

Riley came off the bench to score the equaliser and almost won the game. His impressive cameo should earn him a starting spot for the trip to Gateshead on Saturday (3pm).

Burr said: “I think he’s bided his time and I’ve said that we’ll keep switching things around until we hit the right notes.

“That’s what I want to see from a substitute when they come on, I want them influencing the game.”
