Young players at Saughall Colts JFC united in support of the #FootballRemembers project.

The under sevens and under eights teams stood with the opposition for group photographs as a mark of respect to commemorate those that took part in the 1914 Christmas Truce, one of the most iconic moments of the First World War.

Football Remembers Week, a joint collaboration between the FA, the Premier League, the Football League and the British Council took place from December 5-14.

The aim was to engage football fans and players at every level about what took place on Christmas Day one hundred years ago on the battlefields in Belgium when soldiers from both sides put down their weapons and crossed into No Man’s Land to share in an impromptu ceasefire.

Every professional team in the Premier League, Football League, FA Cup and all other levels of the game were encouraged to take a photo and then upload it via social media using the hashtag #footballremembers.

All the pictures will be automatically uploaded to the website www.footballremembers.com which will act as a moment of record of football in 2014, a century on from the First World War, and will be preserved for future generations.
