Chester FC will be looking to make it back-to-back victories when they travel to Welling United tonight (7.45pm).

Steve Burr's Blues side head into the clash at Park View Road in buoyant mood following their deserved 1-0 home success over high-flying Eastleigh on Saturday but will face a Wings side full of confidence themselves having registered a surprise 2-1 success at Gateshead over the weekend.

Burr is likely to keep faith with the same starting XI that began against the Spitfires on Saturday, with central midfielder Luke George the only absentee for the Blues as he continues to recover from a pulled thigh muscle picked up during the 2-1 loss to Forest Green Rovers at the beginning of the month.

And after a tough run of games which has seen the Blues face fancied sides including Tranmere Rovers, Forest Green Rovers, Grimsby Town and Eastleigh during September, Burr acknowledges that his side will start as favourites against Loui Fazakerley's Welling.

“They've had a good win against Gateshead so it shows you what they are capable of doing,” said Burr.

“I think in our fans eyes we are favourites against most teams but that is just the size of the club. We just want to put a run together now where we can start moving in the right direction.”

Chester were 3-1 victors the last time the two met at Park View Road back in January when John Rooney bagged a brace and former Blues loan ace Oli McBurnie, now of Swansea City, netted his first for the club.
