NANTWICH Town's youngsters made progress in two sections of the Cheshire County Cup on Sunday.

The U13s defeated a fancied Vauxhall Motors team 4-0, with two goals from Rob Denby and single strikes from Kelvin Mellor and Nathan Southern securing their place in the quarter-finals.

The U16s reached the same stage with a hard-earned 3-2 win against Hyde United as goals from Shane Ducker, Dan Prince and Chris Halpin saw them through.

There were victories for three of the Dabbers' teams in action in the SLB Cars Alexandra Soccer Centre Mini-Leagues.

A Jack Wilson brace gave the U8s a 2-1 win over Wistaston United, while a Luke Stokes brace and singles from Joel Cotterill and Jake Bedford secured a 4-3 win for the U9s against Crewe Pedigrees.

James Southern helped himself to five goals as the U10s' A team beat the B team 10-2. Declan Scott and Elliot Steventon added two apiece, with George Paraistodomou also netting for the A team, while Russell Hafidh bagged both the B team's goals.

In the Cheadle and District League, Liam Noble, Lee Mellor and Adam Clayton all scored twice in the U11s' 7-0 defeat of Cheadle United. Josh Lane added the other.

The U12s defeated Stone Dominoes 5-1, with Liam Clews and Tom Parkes scoring doubles and Nathan Tickle one.

A brace from Zak Moores put the U14s on target for a 6-0 win over Blythe Bridge. Ryan Dale, Tom Gerrard and Gareth Oakley were also on target.

The U15s drew 1-1 against Hanley Town, while the U18s were edged out 5-4 in their Staffs Minor Counties Youth League game against Hanley Town.

Nantwich U11s' B team lost 2-0 to Crewe Shooters in the South Cheshire Youth League, while the U15s B defeated Nantwich FC 6-2, with doubles from Callum Clews and Anthony McDonald and singles from Scott Vickers and Matt Hassall.

Alsager Town's youngsters also enjoyed another successful weekend.

The U8s saw off Bank Rovers 4-0, the U10s A defeated Bentley All Stars 3-0 and the U12s' A side produced their best display of the season to beat Crewe FC 4-0.

The U12s' B team also took the spoils when they defeated Endon 6-3 and the U13s hammered Gist 7-1.

A strong all-round performance saw the U14s' A team overcome Springbank Youth 4-2, but the U14s' B team paid the price for missed chances as they went down 2-0 to Blurton.

The U15s were zapped 7-4 by Wrenbury Lasers, the U16s defeated gallant Bunbury 7-1 and the U18s lost 3-1 to Leek Town.

Double strikes from Gavin Derricott and Chris Stockton helped Crewe FC's U14s to a 4-0 win over AFC Athletico, while the U15s edged out Sandbach Town Dynamos 3-2.

The U9s and U12s suffered heavy defeats while the U13s went down 3-2 to Gist Buzzards following a late fightback after they trailed 3-0 with seven minutes to go.
