THE Under-13s side at The Dragons AFC followed up their success in the Rocksavage Power Company section of the Halton Junior League by picking up The Devon Championship on their end-of-season tour.

It has been a fine season for the Dragons young side who, having lost only one league game, chalked up four wins and two draws to sweep to victory in the county competition.

The Widnes boys lit up the South Coast with their brand of attacking football and, competing against sides from across the country, showed they have the quality needed to be winners.

On hand to present a well-earned trophy and medals were the newly retired Premiership and international referee Graham Poll and the man who lifted the FA Cup for Spurs in 1991, Gary Mabbutt.

In other Dragons news, the U12s headed for the shores of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland last week for two games. The lads recovered well from a 7-2 defeat to Carrick Rangers Colts to secure a 5-0 victory against Larne Colts.
