The Chester FC squad experienced a different kind of training when first-team coach Jon McCarthy stepped aside for yoga instructor Seema Banerjee.

Seema has returned to Chester for the summer from her native Indian having previously spent 15 years living in the city and leading yoga classes.

She is good friends with Chris Talbot, wife of the club's vice president Gary Talbot, and when Seema revealed she had been giving yoga lessons to footballers from Arsenal's academy in Delhi, the Blues legend decided to contact McCarthy, who was delighted to take up the offer.

Seema delivered a yoga class to the squad during training, teaching them moves to help them relax and warm down.

"I have been thrilled to work with the Blues, they were very responsive and a pleasure to teach," said Seema, who is back in the UK with her husband Pinoci and children Ahana, 16, and Abhiraj, 11.

"My son Abhiraj had not seen me teach before, he was in awe of the players and impressed with his mum's skill."
