WITH only three days left before the transfer deadline falls the Chester City manager Mark Wright is working tirelessly to make room in his playing squad in order to bring additional players in.

City are one of a number of Coca-Cola League clubs who are near to or in excess of the current wage-capping restrictions, and the only way they will be allowed to bring additional players in to the club, is if they transfer or loan out some of their existing squad.

Midfielder Jermaine McSporran and defender Graham Allen had their names circulated to other clubs last week. It is also understood that striker Michael Branch would also be allowed to leave the Deva Stadium if a club came in for his services.

A number of Nationwide Conference clubs have enquired about McSporran and Allen and it is expected that developments will be forthcoming in the next 48 hours.

Chester are next in action on Friday when League Two leaders Swindon Town visit the Deva Stadium.

City are hoping that defender Ashley Westwood, who missed the weekend trip to Torquay United will have recovered from his hamstring injury and be available for selection.
