As derbies go, this one was pretty forgettable.
A share of the spoils was probably a fair result from a game that seldom rose above the ordinary.
But it was a fourth clean sheet in a row and another game unbeaten for Chester FC as they emerged from their trip across the border with something to show for their hard work.
Here's our ratings.
Liam Roberts - 7/10
Didn't have to make a save but that is just part of being a goalkeeper. He was vocal, confident and looked very assured in a high stakes contest.
Theo Vassell - 6/10
Solid down the right hand side and worked hard throughout for the cause.
Johnny Hunt - 6/10
Linked up well with Craig Mahon at times and coped well with a return to his former club.
Ryan Astles - 7/10
Another good performance from the centre back. Dominant in the air he gave little change to Wrexham's frontline.
Blaine Hudson - 7/10
Won his aerial battles and looked assured at the back. A first game back at the Racecourse since his departure and he handled it well.
Craig Mahon - 7/10
Definitely back to his old self. Wants to get on the ball and ran at people every chance he could. His work lacked an end product, though.
Tom Shaw - 6/10
Battled well in the centre of the park to try and break things up but wasn't involved as much as he would have liked.
Ryan Lloyd - 6/10
Another to put in a shift but wasn't able to provide his usual driving force from midfield.
Elliott Durrell - 7/10
His play lacked an end product but some of his touches and vision were sublime. Get the feeling Wrexham fans would rather trade him for a certain Mr Rooney.
James Alabi - 5/10
Not his day today. The experience and physicality of Hamza Bencherif saw his impact limited.
Kane Richards - 6/10
As always, Richards worked tirelessly for the cause but he looked isolated at times but always looked to stretch the Wrexham defence.
Substitutes
Jordan Chapell (on for James Alabi - 76 mins)
Tried to get on the ball and provide energy going forward but was stymied in his efforts.
Sam Hughes (on for Elliott Durrell - 87 mins)
Unlucky not to start, Hughes had little time to make an impact.
Oluwaseun Akintunde (on for Kane Richards - 87 mins)
Little time to make a mark but looked to be a nuisance late on.
