VAUXHALLS slipped to their second Nationwide North defeat inside a week to a team around them in the table, this time against a Worcester City side who had lost their previous four home games.

The Motormen should have taken a sixth-minute lead when a free-kick found Anthony Wright. He knocked the ball down for defender Phil Brazier, who blasted over.

Worcester didn't have to wait long for a breakthrough.

A defensive mix-up between Brazier and keeper Tim Dittmer allowed Worcester's Leon Kelly through to beat Dittmer via the post. Vauxhalls nearly found a leveller on 35 minutes when a free-kick from Spellman found McNulty, whose shot was turned round the post. There were few chances after that.

A disappointing result for the Motor-men, who now go to Moor Green tomorrow night for a game that has taken on greater significance.

VAUXHALL: Dittmer, Wooyatt, McDermott, Spellman, McNulty, Brazier, Nesbitt (Noone 69), Lawton (Parry 83), A.Wright, Olsen, D.Wright. Subs: Duffy, Glendenning.
