A THRILLING 3-3 draw between Woodlands and Crossway in round two of the Chester FA Cup went to extra time – but both sides scored again to send the game to penalties, which Woodlands won 5-3.

Woodlands’ scorers in open play were Phil Strapp, Rob Stockton, Danny Brown and Andy Thomas while John Duncan (2), John Marshall and Phil Goff were on target for Crossway.

Saltney Vets beat Lodge Bar 3-0 with Andy Bennett, Dave Frost and Mark Spilsbury getting on the scoresheet.

Round two of the Chester and District League Cup saw Frodsham United won 3-2 at Ashton Lions for whom Lee Williams grabbed a brace, but John Parker, Mark Southall and Antony Gobin netted for the visitors.

Kelsall beat Cestrian Alex 2-1 in extra time. Jay Sinnott scored for Alex.

Highfield Athletic 2nds were beaten 4-2 by their first team. Stuart Davies scored twice for the 2nds and Ross Broadbent (2), Matty Cross and Adam Langton scored for the 1sts.

Waggon & Horses beat Duddon United 3-1 thanks to goals from Gary Ellams, Warren Roberts and James Henry.

In round two of the Cayzer Shield, goals by Rob Phillips (2), Mark Tummon, Richard Flaherty, Carl Caldwell and Stuart Hyde helped Halfway House Celtic to a 6-3 win over Willaston Nomads.

Moneysupermarket.com were hammered 7-2 by Rangers Breaks. Moneysupermarket.com’s goals came from Joe Amos and John Brown.

Saughall Thursday Reserves edged past Barrow Athletic, 5-4. A Matt Russell hat-trick and goals by Dan Rigby and Mark Leggy won it for Thursday. Chris Dolan, Ged St Lawrence, Matt Williamson and an own goal could not save Barrow.

In the Queensferry Sports Premier Division, Chester Nomads 2nds lost 3-2 to Tarvin Athletic. Joe Imlack and Cirlin Smith’s goals for Nomads were eclipsed by Matty Edwards, John Wyatt and Stuart Groves’ for Tarvin.

Robin Hood beat Chester Nomads 3rds 2-1 in Olympic Trophies Division One.

Alan Hunt and Barry Crisp netted for Robin Hood and Joey Collins scored Nomads only goal.

Helsby won 3-0 against Parkgate with goals from Lee Fletcher (2) and Dave Richards.

In DevaWeb Services Division Two, Newton Reserves battered Hoole Rangers Reserves 6-2. Dave Allen (4), Danny Morgan and John Carline netted for Newton.

In Chesterfest Division Three, Uberlube recorded the same scoreline against Frodsham Vets thanks to Paul Tomlinson (3), Matt Elson and Lloyd Holder (2). Ian Tennant and Garth Davies scored for Frodsham.

Manor Athletic annihilated Crossway Reserves 9-1. Chris Tolley (3), Steve Sales (2), Wayne Hulse, Jamie Conroy (2) and Chris Henry completed the rout.
